About Zion Ark
Zion Ark was founded out of necessity as a response to the reduced sense of community and belonging on a societal level.
Positive social change through affordable & sustainable ecosystems within a dwelling place.
We have carefully curated environments that support micro-communities to empower displaced individuals and regain their sense of belonging.
This is achieved through low-barrier to entry co-living and co-working spaces, which provide an equal opportunity for all to re-establish themselves.
How It All Started
How It All Started
The story of Zion Ark was conceived by its founder Jeffrey Bandi through his life experiences that compelled him to provide community and a place to call home for displaced people.
Growing up as a first generation migrant in Australia, he was able to see first hand what it felt like to be placed in an environment where language and culture differences lead to feelings of social isolation which kindled empathy towards people who also find themselves displaced. In addition to that, his parents were church pastors who encouraged him to serve the community and meet people wherever they were in life with love because we are all humans after all — no matter how rich or poor.
During his time studying interior architecture at university, Jeffrey had discovered a trend towards a sharing society where ownership was not always the goal for individuals, resulting in these new cultural norms giving way to the likes of Uber and Airbnbs of the world.
Where We Are Now
This brought his attention towards new ways of thinking for the methods we provide housing and community.
It was during the Covid19 pandemic that became a catalyst for Jeffrey to pause and reflect on the novel opportunities that could meet the needs of displaced people as it was evident that the economic disruption from the global Covid19 pandemic had left many the community in vulnerable positions.
As the world ground to a halt, Zion Ark was birthed.
